An observant parent is often the first person to detect signs of a vision problem in a child. Any one of these signs could indicate that your child is not seeing well.

  1. One eye turns in or out, the other points straight ahead
  2. Frequent blinking
  3. Red or watery eyes
  4. Sensitivity to light
  5. Frequently rubbing eyes
  6. Holds a book very close to read
  7. Loses place while reading
  8. Leaves out or confuses words when reading
  9. Squinting or sitting very close while watching television
  10. Difficulty concentrating
  11. Tilting head noticeably
  12. Covering or closing one eye
  13. Difficulty learning to read
  14. Complains of blurred or double vision
  15. Can not concentrate for any length of time
  16. Does not recognize familiar people in the distance
  17. Poor sporting ability
