Orthokeratology (Ortho K)

Orthokeratology corrects corrects your vision while you sleep without the use of surgery or eye exercises.

Ortho What?

Orthokeratology, or Ortho-K for short, may sound dramatic but it is quite simple. As in Orthodontics and Orthopedics, the ‘Ortho’ in Ortho-K is for correction.
Orthodontics corrects teeth. Orthopedics corrects skeletal injuries.
Orthokeratology corrects the cornea – the front surface of the eye.

Ortho-K is a safe, non-surgical process of gently and gradually reshaping the cornea to reduce or eliminate nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia (the need for reading glasses) and astigmatism with the use of specially designed contact lenses.

The Ortho-K lens floats on your tear film and while you sleep the lens gently and gradually reshapes your cornea to correct your distance vision.

When you wake up you simply remove the lens and see, without needing to wear contacts or glasses during the whole day.

Your vision remains good all day without the need for glasses or contact lenses. In some cases, you may get good vision that lasts a couple of days.
